The Football Attic Kit Podcast 07 - 50GFSE Retrospective

For the latest Football Attic Kit Podcast, we've got something special for you. With Chris returning to the UK for the first time in four years, it was inevitable that he would meet up with Rich to record another FAKP - but also to get together with Jay from DesignFootball.com and John Devlin from TrueColoursFootballKits.com!

Having found a pub that would accommodate us four unashamed kit nerds, it wasn't long before a podcast was recorded, and the subject just so happened to be 'The 50 Greatest Football Shirts Ever' the project that brought all four of us together.

Over the course of just over an hour, we looked back on how the project came about, how we managed to get a consensus on our choices, and which shirts we tried to include but failed. Did we come close to falling out during the entire process?! Listen in and find out!

You can find the Football Attic Kit Podcast on iTunes, or you can download episode 7 here.

  1. just about to listen, should be a cracker!
Hey, have you ever thought about coming up with the best FA Cup or other finals in terms of combination of kits worn?
just thought it might be an interesting subject

    1. Thanks Rob - that's a great suggestion! Don't be surprised if we use that idea as the main feature on episode 8... :)

  2. How about a Podcast on hipster shirts? Ie kits that are achingly cool. Listening to your Podcast I think you could cover off many of the shirts you received criticism for not including in the original 50 as I feel a lot would fit into that category. They may not be the greatest but have that certain something that makes them iconic and leave an indelible mark. Particular suggestions from me (and I own versions of many of these, so I am not sure what that says about me!) would be home shirts from Peru 78, USSR 82, Zaire 74, East Germany 74, AC Milan 89, anything by St. Pauli (though specifically this seasons black skull third shirt), Portugal 2000, Colombia 2014, the Holland away from 2006 and its spiritual cousin the Belgium away from 2016.
