"Sub-BOO-teo"? Isn't it pronounced "Sub-BEW- teo"? That's the way all the promotional material back in the 60's and 70's said it was pronounced. Also Mark Adolph, the son of Subbuteo inventor Peter Adolph, insisted in his book "Growing Up With Subbuteo" that "Sub-BEW-teo" was the correct pronunciation, and that "Sub-BOO-teo" always irritated him.
Was that filmed in the middle of a nuclear test? :)
ReplyDeleteYes. :)

ReplyDeleteI have to say, Rob, that I probably started off calling it Sub-BEW-teo as a kid but nowadays call it Sub-BOO-teo! I feel like I've failed in you... :)
