The Football Attic Podcast Extra No.2 - Vintage Era Football

The Football Attic loves going back to the 1970's and 1980's in search of fabulous nostalgia, but what happens when you go back even further - long before the Second World War and back further still to the late 1800's?

The answer comes in the rich seam of wonderful stories about the players, teams and other football folk that made the early days of British football such a glorious era.

To confirm that very fact, Chris O met up with Graham Sibley to talk about Chapman's Arsenal, a Twitter account that provides real-time insights into Arsenal Football Club during the late-1920's and early 1930's.

There's also a discussion about the formative days of British football that will feature in an upcoming podcast series that Graham's currently working on.

Podcast 20 - We Want Your Memories!

No it's not a new podcast...yet... Also, no, it's not some kind of mid-80s Twilight Zone episode!

We'll soon be recording the 20th Football Attic podcast and, as that's some kind of important number (ish) and we're almost 3 years old, we thought we'd get all self indulgent and do an Attic retrospective.

This actually stemmed from a conversation between Chris and myself about what we've really enjoyed about putting this whole thing together...so we decided to spend an hour engaging in hearty slapping of backs and warm hugs all round, though court orders may inhibit the latter ;-)

We'll be talking about our general memories of the last 3 years from our first, virtually unnoticed posts, to the heights of getting a mention on the Guardian website, making several other proper blog sites' lists of top blogs and generally getting to know a whole bunch of decent people :)

And hey, if we're being all self indulgent, why not get you to join the love in?  Because that's sickening you say? Shame I can't hear you la la la!!!

To that end, we'd like to hear about your own memories & thoughts on the Attic - what you've liked, what you haven't, what we could do better, what you'd like to see more / less of etc etc etc

Anyone who's listened to our most recent Podcast (no. 10) on Football Books may have picked up that we recorded Podcast 11 at the same time, yet there's been no sign of it yet...why is this?  Well, aside from not wanting you to gorge yourself on our aural pleasure, we've decided to do something a little different this time.

Good friend of the Attic, Steve Gabb, has recently set up an internet radio station, Square One Football Radio which is the UK’s first dedicated internet football radio station. They broadcast the finest football podcasts from across the United Kingdom, Europe and beyond. The station runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and we at the Attic are very proud to be a part of it.

To that end, Podcast 11, which covers the thorny subject of England Kits down the years, will initially be available exclusively on Square One.

We'll then release it via the usual routes after a week or so.
