Clot...The Astropitch didn't work Lantern Rouge? Cloth was fine? Do you say this from your Wattle n Daub house, given that bricks are just too modern?
I jest of course... Like a Jester...which you probably have, given that those new fangled 'records' you've heard about are just too gauche!
Relax Rich, it's OK...they can't hurt you anymore...

Sorry, where was I? The Astropitch worked perfectly for me as I always had to fold my cloth pitch up at the end of play and it never seemed to uncrease :(

I think I had some of the smaller balls you refer to though. I know the foam 'indoor' one was smaller than the usual ones.

I also had the spring loaded goalies and yes, they were a lot of fun, if not that effective at saving. The corner kickers weren't great, but what was worse was the throw in takers...unless you had 3 hands of course, in which case they worked just fine :)Rich J (Sofa Soccer)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14957094755620065246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6702800010273076139.post-36995198311281860102012-03-22T08:11:54.693+00:002012-03-22T08:11:54.693+00:00Smallest footballs, eh Lanterne Rouge? I'll have to do some research and find out...

Ah, now if there's a team I wish I'd had during my Subbuteo-playing days, it's the Netherlands. How wonderful that would have been. I had Crystal Palace which vaguely doubled-up as Peru, but the Dutch team? Man, they would have been great...

Oh yeah - the spring-loaded goalies! I remember them! Great fun!

Interesting what you say about the Astroturf pitch. A friend of mine had one and I was very jealous of him as a result. M'colleague Rich J also had one and assures us it gave a more superior playing experience...

Thanks for your Favourite 5, Lanterne Rouge! :)Chris Ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14451130702323813966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6702800010273076139.post-24136138712550020992012-03-22T06:00:03.358+00:002012-03-22T06:00:03.358+00:00Fave items would be the 1) the smallest size foota...Fave items would be the 1) the smallest size footalls as they were easier to control although I understand that they weren't used in official subbuteo competition, 2) the 'World Cup goals' - with coloured netting - one red and one blue, 3) kitwise - undoubtedly Peru and the Netherlands - it was fun to recreate their meeting from the 1978 World Cuo, 4) the spring loaded goalkeepers which would see the ball pinging across the room at high velocity and 5)subbuteo cricket and the West Indies team. Things that didn't work were the special corner kickers (too much like the NFL) and the 'astroturf' pitch - cloth was fine.Lanterne Rougehttp://thetwounfortunates.comnoreply@blogger.com
